The Team

Regan McLaren
Reg McLaren, Guide - Abel Tasman Mountain Biking

Reg’s mountain biking career began in Marahau. Frustrated at the lack of surf after returning from a six-year stint travelling overseas, he took to the local trails on his bike and has never looked back. Reg enjoys freeride, technical downhill and cross-country riding. Reg is fully Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC) trained and is a natural leader in the outdoors, being a keen surfer, snowboarder and rockclimber.

Anna Ussher
Anna Ussher, Guide - Abel Tasman Mountain Biking

Anna started mountain biking just prior to meeting Reg and gathered a world of skills from his guidance. Having spent time dabbling in many sports this one stuck! Anna loves freeride, downhill and cross-country riding. Anna is fully Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC) trained and holds a Degree in Marketing & Management, a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage and has trained as a Scuba Dive Instructor.

Yoshi Horn
 Guide Yoshi Horn

Yoshi is currently studying Psychology at Victoria University in Wellington. We've managed to steal him away for the summer to keep mountain biking high on his agenda! A great guide, Yosh is trained in Comprehensive First Aid and is a pretty dab hand at cleaning kayaks as well!

Mat Tait
Mat tackling Rockface... did he make it??

Kaiteriteri Forest firebreak trails, South Island, NZ (Abel Tasman Mountain Biking freedom bike hire)

Mat is an awesome artist / designer / cartoonist by trade, however we manage to nab him frequently to drive us to our destinations and prepare a great brew of coffee at the end! Mat has recently been spending more and more time on his new mountain bike and can often be found walking back up a section in order to nail it the next time. Striking up a great conversation, Mat can talk about just about anything!
